The 2019 Life Drawing Symposium this past June, in White Plains NY was amazing -- I hope it becomes an annual event!
If your goal is to draw the figure, this was the place to learn. Instructors Melanie Reim, Veronica Lawler, and Margaret Hurst shared many different approaches. This isn't about careful rendering, but quick and expressive mark-making. My life drawing and painting skills have improved so much since the workshop ... the ideas are powerful, and they stay with you.
The best part of this workshop (besides the excellent instruction) is meeting a group of like-minded artists. So glad to be a part of this community! The caricatures and below are 5-minute drawings of some of my classmates, and the other drawings are from various exercises.
