Orange Slices - 9" x 12" Pastel
Painting with my friend Nancy was so much fun today...we painted a simple still life with some mellow jazz playing, and then Nancy, who is an amazing cook, made homemade minestrone, bread, and flan for lunch. It really doesn't get better than this.
Wow, this is fine. You captured this delicate light key so well. The strokes are fun and the translucency really comes through on those slices. Amazing!
Hi! If you're interested in any of my paintings, or a commission, email me. I love to paint portraits of people and animals, and other subjects with special meaning.

I spent hours drawing with my artist dad when I was a kid. Art took a back seat to school and career, until an article about daily painters inspired me to start drawing and painting again. I post new work on this blog to chart my progress.
Two things I've learned: 1) art is a never-ending journey, and 2) I'm happiest in front of an easel:)
I live in Goshen, CT with my husband, a rescue dog named Cassie.
Thanks for visiting!

Luminescent, luscious, delicious. Wonderful painting.
Really nice sense of light in this one. Love the broken color in the areas outside the center of interest.
The translucence of the slices is wonderful. nice job.
Such exquisite luminousity! Great job, Rhonda!
You grabbed me with this. absolutely right on. Love the light shining through the slices.

Your pastel work is very skilled. These oranges are so luminous! You're giving me a yearning for my soft pastels, which I haven't used in some time.
