Charlie the Bichon

This was a difficult project. I actually had to do this portrait twice...the first time I used a new paper that turned out to be a disaster with soft pastels (Hannemuele velour), and a second time as shown here, on Wallis paper. I have seen great work on that velour paper, but I think it is designed for much harder pastels. I lost sleep over this one...but in the end, I am happy with it. I hope the owner likes it.

Hi Rhonda,
I just happened across your painting of "Charlie" and I love it. I have a Charlie (a malti-poo) who looks exactly like this! You did a great job!
I realize this was a commision job, but I was wondering if you ever do a second painting to sell to the public? If so, can you tell me the size of this painting and also the approximate cost?
Thanks so much, and happy painting!
Susan

Rhonda, very nice! I know that the photos can be hard to work from sometimes and you stayed with it and did a great portrait.
