This is a blog to share my love of painting and drawing. Daily practice isn't always possible, but it remains the best way to make consistent progress.

Oriental Horse - 16" x 20" Pastel
I bought this Oriental horse statue on Ebay, and I like it alot. It will make a good still life subject, if I get the set-up right. Next time, I might change the tablecloth color. This was my first attempt; I will try again.
Hi! If you're interested in any of my paintings, or a commission, email me. I love to paint portraits of people and animals, and other subjects with special meaning.

I spent hours drawing with my artist dad when I was a kid. Art took a back seat to school and career, until an article about daily painters inspired me to start drawing and painting again. I post new work on this blog to chart my progress.
Two things I've learned: 1) art is a never-ending journey, and 2) I'm happiest in front of an easel:)
I live in Goshen, CT with my husband, a rescue dog named Cassie.
Thanks for visiting!

Monitors are different, but that looks like a cool light blue. I like the complement affect against the orangey horse. Lovely painting.
A creamy color would make it more monotone (can't think of a better word) and be a calmer scene and change the mood from what it is now. Hmmm.
I like your composition and choice of subject matter.
This a lovely piece; very painterly and moody.
